The entryway sets the tone for everything beyond it. Across Australian farms, acreage properties and rural homes, post and rail fencing has long marked the beginning of the property. Our 8 Panel Entryway Kit builds on that familiar Australian style, while giving you the timber framework to create a substantial and considered entrance.
The kit includes eight panels of premium three-rail post and rail fencing. From there, you can choose the gateway width, gate style and layout to suit your property. So whether you are creating a working farm entrance or a more refined acreage entry, you can build the design around your land.
Create Your Own Gateway
The gateway width is entirely up to you, which means you can create an entrance to suit your driveway and property. Add one of our timber gates for a complete Saltram Rural entryway, or use a simple steel farm gate when practicality matters most.
Either option works naturally with the timber framework. As a result, the eight panels create a defined transition from the road into the property without dictating the size of your gateway.
Choose Your Entryway Layout
The eight panels can be arranged in two different configurations: Straight Funnel or Flared Funnel. Both create a strong sense of arrival, but each gives the entrance a different character.
The Straight Funnel uses four panels on each side, with each side angling towards the gateway to create a deep V shape. Because the panels progressively draw inwards, the design naturally directs attention towards the gate and property beyond.
The Flared Funnel creates a wider and more open approach. Two panels on each side run parallel with the road, while the remaining two panels angle towards the gateway at approximately 45 degrees.
This creates a broader roadside presence, while the angled panels still draw the eye towards the entrance. Therefore, it works particularly well where you want the entryway to feel generous rather than enclosed.
Premium Australian Timber
Choose between Australian Ironbark or Queensland White Cypress, depending on the character you want for your property. Both timbers provide a strong connection to the Australian rural landscape, while offering their own distinctive appearance.
Ironbark brings rich colour, density and substantial natural strength. Meanwhile, Cypress offers warm tones, distinctive grain and the relaxed character associated with traditional Australian fencing.
We use sustainably harvested Australian timber throughout the kit. As a result, you get a premium natural material that sits comfortably within rural, acreage and lifestyle properties.
Choose Your Fence Construction
You can select fully mortised or face-fixed construction, so you can choose the appearance that best suits your fencing.
With fully mortised construction, the rails sit neatly within the posts for a traditional and integrated finish. Alternatively, face-fixed rails bolt directly to the front of the posts, creating a simpler profile and offering greater flexibility during installation.
Each panel measures 2700mm from post centre-point to post centre-point and uses substantial 150mm x 150mm posts with three 50mm x 150mm rails. Extended-height end posts then add strength while giving the entryway greater visual definition.

The gate is not included, because the gateway width is entirely your choice. You can add one of our timber gates, or instead use a suitable steel farm gate for a more practical working entrance.
Finish It Your Way
We supply the entryway raw, so you have complete control over the finished appearance. If you want to customise the timber, you can purchase a tin of our SaltraGuard oils or stains separately and apply your chosen finish yourself.
You might choose an oil to highlight the natural grain, or select a stain to change the timber’s colour and character. Either way, finishing the timber yourself gives you the flexibility to coordinate the entryway with your existing fencing, gates and landscape.
Built Around Your Property
Most Australian rural properties use post and rail fencing in some form. For that reason, the entryway feels familiar while still giving you plenty of freedom to create something distinctive.
The 8 Panel Entryway Kit provides the framework, but you decide how it works with your land. Choose the deep V-shaped Straight Funnel for a stronger sense of arrival, or choose the Flared Funnel for a wider and more open approach.
Then, add your preferred timber or steel gate and finish the timber in your chosen SaltraGuard product. Together, these elements create an entrance that feels considered from the road and naturally leads into the property beyond.
