The entryway sets the tone for everything beyond it. Across Australian farms, acreage properties and rural homes, post and rail fencing has long marked the beginning of the property. Our 6 Panel Entryway DIY Kit builds on that familiar Australian style, giving you a substantial timber framework without the scale of our larger eight-panel entryway.
The kit includes six panels of premium three-rail post and rail fencing. From there, you can choose the gateway width, gate style and layout to suit your property. So whether you are creating a driveway entrance, paddock access or a more considered acreage entry, you can build the design around your land.
Create Your Own Gateway
The gateway width is entirely up to you, giving you the freedom to create an opening that works for your property and access requirements. Add one of our timber gates for a complete Saltram Rural entrance, or use a simple steel farm gate where practicality comes first.
Because the gate is separate from the kit, you have more flexibility over the final design. The six timber panels then frame the gateway and create a natural transition from the road into the property.
Choose Your Entryway Layout
The six panels can be arranged in two configurations: Straight or Flared Funnel. Both create a defined entrance, but they offer different ways to work with your frontage.
The Straight configuration keeps the layout simple, with the panels running straight towards the gateway. This creates a clean and traditional entrance that works particularly well when you want the fencing to follow the existing boundary.
The Flared Funnel gives you more flexibility. You can use one or two panels on each side running parallel with the road, with the remaining one or two panels angling towards the gateway. This allows you to adjust the shape according to your available space and desired sense of arrival.
As a result, you can create anything from a subtle flare to a more pronounced funnel into the gateway.
Premium Australian Timber
Choose between Australian Ironbark or Queensland White Cypress, depending on the character you want for your property. Both timbers bring a strong connection to the Australian landscape and work naturally across rural and acreage settings.
Ironbark provides rich colour, density and substantial natural strength. Meanwhile, Cypress offers warm tones, distinctive grain and the familiar character of traditional Australian rural fencing.
We use sustainably harvested Australian timber throughout the kit. As a result, you get a premium natural material that complements both established properties and new acreage developments.
Choose Your Fence Construction
You can select fully mortised or face-fixed construction, so you can choose the style that best suits your fencing.
With fully mortised construction, the rails sit neatly within the posts for a traditional, integrated appearance. Alternatively, face-fixed rails bolt directly to the front of the posts, creating a simpler profile and offering greater flexibility during installation.
Each panel measures 2700mm from post centre-point to post centre-point and uses substantial 150mm x 150mm posts with three 50mm x 150mm rails. Extended-height end posts then add strength and give the entryway greater visual definition.

The gate is not included, because the gateway width is entirely your choice. You can add one of our timber gates, or use a suitable steel farm gate for a practical working entrance.
Finish It Your Way
We supply the entryway raw, so you have complete control over the finished appearance. If you want to customise the timber, you can purchase a tin of our SaltraGuard oils or stains separately and apply your chosen finish yourself.
You might choose an oil to highlight the natural timber grain, or use a stain to change the colour and character of the timber. Either way, you can coordinate the entryway with your existing fencing, gates and surrounding landscape.

Most Australian rural properties use post and rail fencing in some form. For that reason, an entryway like this feels familiar while still giving you the freedom to create something that suits your property.
The 6 Panel Entryway DIY Kit gives you the timber framework, but you decide how it works with your land. Choose the Straight configuration for a simple, traditional entrance, or use the Flared Funnel to create a broader and more directional approach.
Then, add your preferred timber or steel gate and finish the timber in your chosen SaltraGuard product. Together, these elements create a practical and considered entrance that marks the beginning of your property.
